Tales from the Los Angeles Herald Examiner

When the Los Angeles Herald Examiner newspaper folded after publishing its last issue on November 2, 1989, the staff photographers moved on and the images were donated to the Los Angeles Public Library. Now, 23 years later, join us for a reunion of former HE photographers Paul Chinn, Anne Knudsen, Javier Mendoza, Mike Mullen, Dean Musgrove, Jim Ober, and Jim Ruebsamen as they recall their time on the Herald Examiner and share some of their favorite photos.

LA in Focus is a series of talks which draws on the library’s incredible Photo Collection. LAIF is presented by the Los Angeles Public Library Photo Collection, sponsored by Photo Friends • Free and open to the public. ”¨Reservations not required. Doors open at 1:45pm.
