Paul Koudounaris on the Bejeweled Skeletons of Saints at the LAVA Sunday Salon, September 2013

On the last Sunday of each month , LAVA welcomes interested individuals to gather in downtown Los Angeles (noon-2pm), for a loosely structured conversational Salon featuring short presentations and opportunities to meet and connect with one another.

At the September 2013 Salon, art historian Paul Koudounaris gave a presentation on his groundbreaking work, locating and photographing the bejeweled skeletons of presumed saints that were once on view in numerous central European churches. Paul’s new book on this topic is called Heavenly Bodies. For more about the September Salon, click here.
