S.A. Griffin

I am a cubist wheel inside a pig’s dream of flight. A universe in sleep’s clothing. I do what I can to put fun into my dysfunction and love helping others do the same. I am left handed, drive too fast, sleep too little and feel, talk and think too much.

Editor, The Outlaw Bible of American Poetry (Firecracker Award), Cadillac wrangling Carma Bum progenitor, travelling on the road and off with The Bums from 1989-2009. Lucky as hell to be a working actor for 35 years and counting. Practicing slacker and human being, luckier still to be married to my wonderful wife Lorraine, a librarian at the Huntington Library in San Marino. Very proud of my son Spencer who presently attends UC Davis where he is studying linguistics.

Named Elsie in honor of my paternal Grandmother, in 2010, created The Poetry Bomb, a former Vietnam era practice ordinance just over 7 feet tall converted into an art object and then filled with over 900 poems from around the world culminating in The Poetry Bomb Couch Surfing Across America 2010 Tour of Words, all in an effort to foster civil disagreements.

A member of the curatorial staff at Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center in Venice, California, in 2011 was honored to be the first recipient of Beyond Baroque’s Distinguished Service Award.
