Time travel blogs
I'm posting to pull your sleeve to the series of "time travel blogs" I've created and worked on with various collaborators. Each of these sites offers a view of Los Angeles history which is quite different from the usual narratives. The original 1947project was a crime-a-day exploration of this pivotal year in the development of the Southland, with visits to the crime scenes to see how they'd changed over the decades. Later, 1947project looked at the years 1907 and 1927, before changing its focus to explore a lost neighborhood, Bunker Hill. The current site is called In SRO Land, and looks at lost lore of the Historic Core.
If you enjoy these sites, you'll want to subscribe to original 1947project blogger Larry Harnisch's blog at the LA Times website, The Daily Mirror.
