Earl Stendahl (1888-1966) who was my husband\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s grandfather, was a true visionary. He championed the unknown California Impressionist painters of the 1910s-1930s and almost single-handedly introduced Modern and Pre-Columbian art to the West Coast. My husband is the President of Stendahl Galleries in Los Angeles, which is one hundred years old this year.<\/p>\n<p>I am an organizer for a fundraising\/friend-raising event to benefit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hedgebrook.org\/\">Hedgebrook<\/a> \u00e2\u20ac\u201c the writers colony for women writers located on Whidbey Island, Puget Sound, Washington. I have been a writing resident at Hedgebrook three times; these quiet, inspiring stays transformed my writing life, and the Southern California Leadership Council hopes to bring money and new support to the organization.<\/p>\n<p>Stendahl Galleries of Art is one of the participating cultural institutions in The Getty Research Institute\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pacificstandardtime.org\/\">Pacific Standard Time<\/a> collaboration, now unfolding throughout Southern California.<\/p>\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-620\" data-postid=\"620\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-620 themify_builder\">\n    <\/div>\n<!-- \/themify_builder_content -->\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am a local theatrical producer and author of a recently published book: Exhibitionist: Earl Stendahl, Art Dealer as Impresario.
