Christina Galante has been the retail and events manager at Los Angeles non-profit 826LA for the past 3 years. Founded by Dave Eggers, 826LA offers free after-school tutoring and creative writing programs to students 6-18 and is one of eight locations across the US.

Originally from New York, Christina lived in Manhattan and Brooklyn for 10+ years and made her way through the garment, publishing, advertising/communications/PR and retail industries before moving California in 2005. After totally missing the mark and spending three lost years in San Diego, she made her way to Los Angeles in 2008.

Most days you can either find her in the Echo Park Time Travel Mart slinging Mammoth Chunks and time machine fuel or planning fundraisers like the Echo Park Lake Paddle Boat Regatta and Chickens in Love (a full length record with songs written by kids and performed by LA bands).
