Julie Rico bio

Ms. Rico is from Mt. Clemens, Michigan, near Detroit.  She has lived in Detroit, Los Angeles, Venice, Washington, D.C., and Portland, Oregon. Inspired by artists creative energy Ms. Rico’s life has been one of offering positive advice to any artist that comes to visit her.  In addition, she has offered her numerous galleries to them to exhibit their work. The primary criteria for exhibition is that the artist must show a real commitment to their craft. She has occupied her time in various ways, including the following: Masker on the assembly line at Ford Motor Company in Wayne, Michigan.  She was in the Union; Intern at Senator Carl Levin’s Office.  Carl Levin is the senior senator from Michigan; Manager Trainee in Public Relations and Marketing, world headquarters, General Motors Corp.  She left because she didn’t like following leaders without vision; Earning a Degree in Journalism from Wayne State University; Account Executive, L.A. Times; Board member of the Bilingual Foundation; Lollapalooza, Art Director 1995; Executive Producer, LA Art Fest; Founder of Julie Rico Gallery and Rico Gallery and Weeneez 1989-2010.
